Independent Investigations

Lisa has broad experience conducting and overseeing independent investigations of allegations of discrimination, harassment, compliance violations, and wrongdoing. Many of these investigations involve “whistleblower” allegations.  She also investigates allegations of a “chilled work environment.”   Her investigations are thorough and her conclusions are supported by a comprehensive analysis of the evidence collected during the course of the investigation.  She has substantial experience conducting such investigations in highly sensitive contexts, including those involving allegations against senior company officials.

Government Investigations

Lisa assists clients in responding to government investigations.  She routinely represents U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (“NRC”) licensees, vendors, and, as appropriate, individuals in investigations conducted by the NRC’s Office of Investigations.  She also represents clients in responding to whistleblower allegations filed with the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (“OSHA”) of the U.S. Department of Labor.

Alternative Dispute Resolution (“ADR”)

Lisa represents clients in agency-sponsored alternative dispute resolution efforts, including the NRC’s Early ADR and Post-Investigation ADR processes and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s (“EEOC”) ADR process.

Employee Concerns and Compliance Program Guidance

Lisa advises clients regarding the development and operation of Employee Concerns Programs and other compliance programs.  She recognizes that each program has its own unique needs, resources, and approach.  Her broad industry experience, knowledge of key program objectives, and careful listening skills help her tailor her advice to maximize client benefit.

Training

Lisa provides training to in-house personnel on an array of topics.  This training may be designed to educate new leaders on key regulatory aspects of their role, provide guidance on managing in a nuclear environment, or guide internal investigators in certain aspects of conducting investigations.  She also develops training  to address unique circumstances that might exist in a specific work group.  Whatever the need, the training and associated materials are designed to accomplish specific client objectives.

Nuclear Regulatory, Commercial, and Corporate Issues

Lisa advises clients on a variety of nuclear regulatory matters, including fitness for duty, access authorization, quality assurance, and enforcement matters.  She also handles commercial contracts in the nuclear industry, with a primary focus on nuclear fuel cycle contracts and development and amendment of nuclear facility co-owner agreements.  She advises on corporate matters in the nuclear industry, including the management and oversight of subsidiary corporations and creation and operation of Nuclear Oversight Committees of a company’s Board of Directors.
